A Visual Ventures Transformation · Kingsoft Co. Ltd, Nairobi

From POS vendor to the hospitality operating system.

Kingsoft Hotelex has been building POS software in Nairobi since 2008. The product is real. The brand is not. This is the case study of what Kingsoft becomes when the brand finally catches up.

Operating since

CHAPTER 01 — THE EVIDENCE

This is what Kingsoft.biz looks like today. Captured live.

Every screenshot below is the actual current state — pulled from kingsoft.biz, the Hotelex Manual, the Managex training portal and the live k360guests QR menu. No invented before states.

The homepage · 2026 reality
REAL CAPTURE · KINGSOFT.BIZ · MAY 2026
▮ Before — Real
Real kingsoft.biz homepage screenshot
kingsoft.biz today — single-page Bootstrap layout titled "Shop Kingsoft 360 POS devices." Hardware-reseller framing, no per-product depth, no SEO surface area, no client logos page despite 18 years of real venues.
▮ After A — Kingsoft Rebrand
Kingsoft Hotelex redesigned dashboard
Kingsoft Hotelex — The Hospitality Operating System. Confident navy + gold enterprise SaaS. Hero positioning, real client proof strip, modules surfaced, live QR menu embedded, demo form with venue-aware fields.

▮ Before — Real
Real k360guests QR menu for Alfakher
k360guests.com today — live at Alfakher (shisha lounge, Nairobi). Functional menu with 17 bar categories, ratings, "Powered by Kingsoft Technology" footer. Different domain. Different visual identity. Fractures the brand.
▮ After A — Branded into Kingsoft
Redesigned QR menu in Kingsoft Hotelex brand
Kingsoft Hotelex Guest Menu. Same product, branded under the hospitality OS. Phone shows Alfakher's real menu with KSh prices, STK Push payment, gold-accented UI. Domain consolidated to kingsoft.biz/menu.

REAL CAPTURE · KINGSOFT.BIZ/DOCS
▮ Before — Real Docusaurus
Real Hotelex Manual docs landing
Hotelex Manual on kingsoft.biz/docs — real Docusaurus site with 30+ documented modules (POS, waiter, cashier, bill forwarding, payment codes, stock processes). Source on GitHub at ManuelWandeto/hotelex_docs. Good content. Off-brand wrapper.
▮ Before — POS Reports page
Real POS Reports documentation page
kingsoft.biz/docs/pos-and-reports/ — page covers menu administration, POS management, robust reports. The depth is real; the visual register reads as a developer's afterthought, not the product manual of an 18-year company.
CHAPTER 02 — THE REBRAND

The brand Kingsoft already deserves.

An identity system that matches 18 years of real product. Premium enterprise SaaS energy. Navy and gold. Restraint over startup gimmickry.

After A · Kingsoft Hotelex Rebrand

The hospitality operating system.

Premium enterprise SaaS. Navy as the institutional anchor, gold as the hospitality cue. Restraint over startup gimmickry. Typography pairs Fraunces (editorial display serif) with Inter (modern grotesk). Built to live on POS terminals, hotel reception counters and Instagram alike.

CHAPTER 04 — THE DASHBOARD

The screen the bar manager opens at 2am.

The redesigned Kingsoft Hotelex dashboard. Real-time view of revenue, active orders, waiter balances, room occupancy, stock alerts and payment methods. Per venue, per shift, per department.

▮ Kingsoft Hotelex Dashboard
Kingsoft Hotelex enterprise dashboard
Enterprise SaaS register. Navy + gold. Six-card grid: revenue, orders, waiter balances, room occupancy, stock alerts, payments. Designed to feel like Linear or Ramp built for hospitality.
CHAPTER 05 — THE QR MENU + PAYMENT FLOW

Three taps. One table. Real M-Pesa.

Branded into Kingsoft Hotelex. The same QR menu that is live at Alfakher today — consolidated under one identity, embedded on the Kingsoft site, and ready to expand with M-Pesa STK Push and PayBill account-reference splits.

▮ Before — k360guests.com
Real k360guests QR menu
Live at Alfakher today. Works, but off-brand and on a separate domain.
▮ After A — Kingsoft Guest Menu
Kingsoft QR menu redesigned
Same product, branded under Kingsoft Hotelex. Phone-first, premium hospitality.
CHAPTER 06 — HARDWARE THAT MATCHES THE SOFTWARE

POS terminals branded, packaged, and trusted.

Kingsoft already sells hardware (KES 42,000 terminals, KES 8,000 thermal printers). The transformation gives the hardware a brand — sticker, screen, packaging — so a customer sees one company, not a Bootstrap reseller.

▮ Kingsoft Hotelex POS Terminal
Kingsoft Hotelex POS terminal on hotel front desk
For hotel reception and busy bar tills. All-in-one terminal, branded screen, matching 72mm thermal printer, branded sticker. Hotel-grade product photography.
CHAPTER 07 — THE MODULE STACK

Every module Kingsoft already has. Surfaced and sold properly.
